MALACCA HIGH SCHOOL WALKABOUT ON SAT. 30 NOVEMBER 2013

A small group of former MHS pupils and 2 lower 6 MHS pupils who acted as our school guides took us around Malacca High School on Sat. 30.11.13. 

Paul Lim and wife came in from UK, Kwong (1958),Johnny Yong and Kang came from KL. Kwong has never been back since 1958. Many structures have been demolished due to building of new blocks. 

Our Wisma Pengakap (1975-1998) is gone, basketball court is gone and most recently the HSOBA building (1964-2013) was acquired by the Education Ministry and reduced to dust. 

The school hall opened (1981- ) is in need of repairs. 
Wonder why the school has built a RM 1 million new astro turf hockey pitch in 2013? Who will be responsible for the maintenance? 


A historical school like Malacca High must not loose her soul and buildings with history which have links with the pupils.

MAHSOPA DONATES TO PHILIPPINES TYPHOON DISASTER FUND

During the MAHSOPA Dinner, a spontaneous donation appeal was made to those present. It was an appeal for cash donation to the recent Philippines Typhoon Disaster Fund.

Those present responded by donating cash amounting to RM 3,600.00. It was for a compassionate response to the unfortunate citizens of Philippines who was devastated by the typhoon.

MAHSOPA made history by donating to an International Relief Fund which we had never done before. Also, the presence of more than 350 former Malacca High pupils made this dinner our biggest ever held.

We expressed our big Thank you to all former teachers and former pupils who made an effort in attending this auspicious event of the year.

38 TABLES SOLD AND TYPHOON DISASTER DONATION

MAHSOPA 2013 DINNER was held on Friday night, 29th. November 2013.

 Our dinner was sold out and more than 38 tables were taken up, making it our largest dinner in terms of attendence to date. At least more than 380 persons attended. 

We managed to get the MHS percussion band to perform for us and MHS students to assist. It was a night of celebrations for all former pupils and teachers of Malacca High School. 

A spontaneous fund raising drive for the Philippines Typhoon Relief Fund was also carried out and a sum of RM 3,600.00 was raised during the night. This is also a first for MAHSOPA in raising a relief fund for overseas disaster.

Thanks for your support and hope to see you all in our next dinner.

With less than 1 month to go to our dinner on 29.11.13, we have sold and received sponsorship for 35 tables.

We are trying to get our former pupils to push for our target of 50 tables. Try to book early and we close our booking by 15.11.2013 so that we can inform the hotel of our final number of tables.

We want you to have an enjoyable dinner with us for that night. Let us strive towards our goal.

MAHSOPA DINNER AND EVENTS PUBLISHED IN THE STAR METRO TODAY

The Star newspaper has published our MAHSOPA Dinner, Golf game and School Walkabout in the Star Metro today. Contact names and email addresses are listed so that interested former Malacca High pupils can book their interest in these events.

The MAHSOPA Dinner 2013 is being held at Hotel Equatorial, Melaka on Friday night, 29th. November 2013. The School Walkabout is on Saturday moring between 10.00 am to noon and the Golf game is on Sat. morning.

We hope more former pupils will join in our celebration dinner of Malacca High School 187th. Anniversary on 7th. December 2013.

To date, 30 tables has been paid and sponsored.

With the forthcoming MAHSOPA DINNER 2013 being held in Melaka for the first time, former MHS pupils who want to attend this dinner on their own can travel to Melaka by car pooling.

Those who want to stay back and stay a night in Melaka for the school walkabout can share rooms.

Car pooling and sharing hotel rooms should be arranged individually for those who are interested to do.
