MAHSOPA ANNIVERSARY DINNER IN DECEMBER 2023

MAHSOPA 2023 Anniversary Dinner will be held on Saturday 2nd. December 2023 at Royal Lake Club in Kuala Lumpur.

Members and non members are invited to attend this event and block this date. 

MAHSOPA PROJECTS 2023-2026?

MAHSOPA will celebrate her 50th. Anniversary in 2026 which is 3 years away.
May I take to pen a few projects which MAHSOPA can assist our HSOBA in Malacca to uplift our associations.

1.New HSOBA Premises

Due to the unfortunate demolition  of the  old HSOBA Club house located at the Malacca High School premises over the last few years ago, HSOBA has NO premises to meet and carry our her activities, if any.
If I can remember correctly, HSOBA has been offered a new premises at Pulau 
Melaka as compensation.
This offer has conditions imposed eg. premises cannot serve liquor to
members etc. Instead of refusing to comply with such condition, HSOBA should accept the offered premises for our own.
HSOBA can always discuss with Malacca Club for HSOBA members to
have their drinks there.
HSOBA can use her new premises for meetings, an event hall, cafe and
paying room accomodation for outstation or overseas members.
A property in hand is better than not having one over the years due to some
restrictive lifestyle conditions.

This can be an opportunity for HSOBA.
If this premises can be acquired legally and refurbished, it can be officially be
opened in 2026 when MHS celebrates her 200th anniversary and MAHSOPA
celebrates her 50th. of founding.

2. Digitising all copies of Optimist

If remaining copies of Optimist can be digitised and posted online, deadline  should also be 2026.
Currently, I operate mhsdigitallibrary.blogspot.com.
Some scanned copies of the Optimist are posted here since 2018 for free  
viewing.

3. Set up Global MAHSOPA Chapters

Currently, main MAHSOPA Chapter is in Kuala Lumpur/PJ.
Other Chapters are in MAHSOPA Singapore and MAHSOPA Hong Kong.
With the Internet, views, news and  activities of various MAHSOPA Chapters can be accessed by members, MHS graduates and the worldwide public viewing in respective websites.
Maybe, MAHSOPA can reach out to
members to set up MAHSOPA Australia, MAHSOPA UK, MAHSOPA USA etc.

All subjects suggested here are food for thought and action.

Last Saturday, 27.5.2023, MAHSOPA held two talks by Mahsopian members. 

Mr. Yong Poh Chye gave an insight on the forthcoming Budget 2023.

Dr. Pola Singh presented his inspiring  talk about his journey through life.
